Following a period in the Royal Air Force Fire Service in the early seventies, the managing director, David Hughes spent most of the following years working in the fire industry for various companies in the UK and Ireland. An opportunity arose whilst working as Service manager for a major national company in 1997 and ABC Fire Protection was born. Work increased rapidly and provided positions for two good friends and engineers who followed from the national company when they saw that an independent operating in the market place offered more job satisfaction and a less stressful working environment.
The company has held both ISO 9001 accrediation and BAFE registration for 10 years and this is an integral part of the company's quality standards and ethics as well as being an increasing requirement by UK insurers and Fire Officers.
David has overseen the acquisitions of Eurofire in Hampshire plus 3 small established fire businesses in Dorset Express Fire, FJN Fire Protection and Rapidfire some years ago have all added to the company's operational area and customer base.
The company has grown and thrived focusing on the core business of fire extinguishers and training. Now that more more family members have joined the business we can now offer a complete fire safety solution with Fire Alarms and electrical services added to the growing number of services we provide our customers.
